Title: Stolen Songbird
Series: The Malediction Trilogy
Author: Danielle L. Jensen

My Rating: 4.75/5 Lol! Might as well be a 5 in my book!
Characters: 5/5 I loved all of the characters!
Setting: 5/5 Despite being set in an underground city, I found the setting interesting.
Plot: 4/5 The only reason it didn’t get a 5 is because to me the ending seemed so sudden.
Relationships: 5/5 I love a good Hate to Love romance. But especially a misunderstood Hate to Love. I also found the friendship and various relationships to be interesting and engaging.
Cover (Not factored into final rating): 5/5
My Description: Forgive me for this but I just can’t help but think its a more interesting version of Wintersong. I know It’s not the same story at all. But it kind of is similar. The Trolls/Goblins are cursed in an underground cavernous city and to break/maintain the curse they steal a human girl away and she must marry their King/Prince to do so. But she doesn’t end up fulfilling their need. Also, despite trying to avoid it the main girl and guy fall in love. The ending is similar as well. The difference being that Stolen songbird has much more story and characters. It has more personality and is more interesting. While Wintersong is more artsy. So if you were excited by Wintersong but felt it was too boring to entertain you, Try Stolen Songbird!
For five centuries, a witch’s curse has bound the trolls to their city beneath the mountain. When Cécile de Troyes is kidnapped and taken beneath the mountain, she realises that the trolls are relying on her to break the curse.
Cécile has only one thing on her mind: escape. But the trolls are clever, fast, and inhumanly strong. She will have to bide her time…
But the more time she spends with the trolls, the more she understands their plight. There is a rebellion brewing. And she just might be the one the trolls were looking for…
Like it? Love it? Hate it?
Love it! I am reading the second book right now and I am so interested to know what happens next!
The ending was too fast paced and sudden but I was still thoroughly engaged.
Conclusion: Did I mention I actually really like the Female Protagonist. Thats always a plus for me!
Should you read it? Definitely! This book is underrated in my eyes!
