September Wrap-Up // Monthly Wrap-Up

Happy October! How was your September reading wise?

I think I did pretty average. 3 books are more than I have been managing the past couple months but worse than I was doing last year. I guess 2018 hasn’t been my reading year.

That’s okay! I have been enjoying everything I have managed to read so far so no complaints!

Here’s what I read in September!

Wildcard by Marie Lu (Warcross #2)  wildcard

This is the sequel and Finale to the Warcross series. I have to say it was SOOO good, in my opinion. I finished it in one day. If you haven’t read the Warcross series I definitely suggest it. I haven’t written my review of this book yet but I did write a review of the audiobook for the first books. You can read that Here!

I didn’t put a description for this book because it is a sequel and the description is VERY spoil-y.  But check out my spoiler-free review of Warcross!

Impostors by Scott Westerfeld (The Uglies pt. 2 Book 5) img_0313

Goodreads Description:

Frey and Rafi are inseparable . . . but very few people have ever seen them together. This is because Frey is Rafi’s double, raised in the shadows of their rich father’s fortress. While Rafi has been taught to charm, Frey has been taught to kill. Frey only exists to protect her sister. There is no other part of her life. Frey has never been out in the world on her own – until her father sends her in Rafi’s place to act as collateral for a dangerous deal. Everyone thinks she’s her sister – but Col, the son of a rival leader, is starting to get close enough to tell the difference. As the stakes grow higher and higher, Frey must decide whether she can trust him – or anyone in her life.

While technically the first book of this story, it is set in the same world as The Uglies but a little in the future and with different characters. I found this book really easy to get into and power read through. You don’t even need to be familiar with the first part of the series to understand or enjoy it. You can read my full review Here!

Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris (The Sookie Stackhouse series #1) Dead Until Dark

Amazon Description:

Sookie Stackhouse is just a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Bon Temps, Louisiana. She’s quiet, doesn’t get out much, and tends to mind her own business—except when it comes to her “disability.” Sookie can read minds. And that doesn’t make her too dateable. Then along comes Bill Compton. He’s tall, dark, handsome—and Sookie can’t hear a word he’s thinking. He’s exactly the type of guy she’s been waiting for all her life…

But Bill has a disability of his own: he’s a vampire with a bad reputation. And when a string of murders hits Bon Temps—along with a gang of truly nasty bloodsuckers looking for Bill—Sookie starts to wonder if having a vampire for a boyfriend is such a bright idea.

This is a reread! I have been wanting to reread the Sookie Stackhouse series for a while. It used to be called the Southern Vampire Mysteries but I think the name was changed once the show True Blood came out so that people might realize easier this was the book series that the show was based on. I did read the books first YEARS ago and then watched the show. I hate endings though so I still haven’t read the last book or watched the last season of the show. So I think I will do a full reread and then a full re-watch.

Note: The Goodreads description for this book sucks. It doesn’t say anything and doesn’t mention the murder/mystery part!

What did you read in September?

Stay tuned for my Spooky October TBR!

Thanks for reading!
